As an experienced teacher, I’m well acquainted with the pressures and challenges faced by teenagers as they start to think about their futures whilst also trying to come to grips with their own identities. Add social media and the demands of the UK exam system into the mix and you can have a perfect storm of stress and anxiety. For parents it can be particularly difficult to know how to help your child, especially since this is the period in their lives when they are most likely to be resistant to parental advice. Sometimes, you just need a mentor figure to step in and offer some extra help, a ‘neutral adult’ who stands outside the role of ‘parent’ or ‘teacher’ but who has the life experience, training and expertise to offer your child appropriate advice and support.
That’s where I come in.
Fourteen years of teaching in the English educational system have given me a wealth of experience and pastoral training to call upon, not to mention an ‘insider’s understanding’ of the academic and social pressures your child is facing. My training in NLP, Timeline Therapy™ and hypnosis has equipped me with additional tools to help your child identify and enact the changes they need to make, to not just keep their head above the water, but to truly flourish.

Regular videos calls (weekly or fortnightly) to help your child manage their workload, stay motivated and organise their time. Sessions will always be tailored to each student, and might include:
Goal setting and positive accountability.
Support in finding a healthy balance between work and relaxation.
Refining existing strategies – or creating news ones – for more effective working.
Development of revision skills and exam technique.
These techniques help your child to work with their unconscious minds to make the changes they need, employing the careful use of language and a variety of active imagination exercises.
They are particularly effective at overcoming limiting beliefs, managing stress, boosting motivation and improving self-confidence, and can effect significant positive change in the course of just a few sessions.
For more information on these techniques, please see the NLP information page.
